OBJECTIVE: For pupils to extend their vocabulary
The teacher divides the class in two groups. Both groups receive cards with a family member on it (e.g. uncle). One group in German and the other group in English/Welsh. The pupils can use the word on the card to communicate and find their “translation” partner.
You can use the song “Schritt für Schritt” to start, pause and stop the activity.
What you need to do:
Familiarise pupils with vocabulary.
Pupils can keep the card when they successfully find their translation partner and receive a new one. At the end they can count their cards to see who has the most cards.
